The Insulating Concrete Form Association relies on the strength of the membership to address the wide range of issues facing this growing industry.  This volunteer effort is channeled through four standing committees, whose current chairs reflect a balance of previous experience with some new faces, and renewed energy.

In keeping with the current operational reorganization of the ICFA, the Membership committee will evaluate the dues structure to make sure it is in line with other industry associations, and produces adequate revenue to fund the Association’s programs and services.  The Committee will also seek to communicate the improved ICFA member benefits through an updated brochure and a membership drive in 2009.   The Promotional Committee will likewise work to create awareness of existing programs, such as the Concrete Homes Building Council of the NAHB, as well as the new ICFA approved AIA course. Additional promotional efforts will be directed at improving the resource section on the new ICFA website, and identification of relevant trade shows and conferences for ICFA representation.

Under new leadership, the Codes and Research Committee seeks to re-establish organizational and leadership role in the review, analysis and development of all ICF related codes, standards and testing protocols in North America.  This will be achieved through continued liaison with all existing supporting associations, agencies, and ad-hoc groups.  A special emphasis will be placed on ICF opportunities in the sustainable construction market. This same focus has been chosen by the Standards and Practices Committee, which is developing a Sustainable Best Practices Guide for the ICF installer and distributor.

Committee involvement is available to any ICFA members. Please contact the ICFA office for more information.
